...I realized that this is my last Winter Break ever

I cannot be more thankful for the way 2011 ended and 2012 began. I have had, by far, the best Winter Break that I can remember.

I just got back yesterday (okay so I'm going back through and finishing all the posts that I left as drafts, so technically this was not yesterday) from visiting one of my oldest friends, Jessica. I've known her since we were in 1st grade.

I haven't seen her since I was in her wedding in August 2008 and now she has a beautiful newborn baby girl named Ava who is the epitome of perfection. I didn't hear that baby cry once. Goodness, I could sing praises of her all day. Jessica and Matt were so generous in welcoming Rochella, Deborah, and me into their home. It was so wonderful to be able to reconnect, talk about each other's lives, learn about the things/events that we have missed, laugh and tell stories, and reminisce on the past.

I fell instantly in love! I wish I could go visit her more often but I will have to live vicariously through Skype and Facebook. It's so amazing to see how we have all grown up so fast. I'm about to get my Master's degree and then graduate for REAL in May, take the CPA exam, and then start my career! It's crazy to see how time flies. I just pray that these ladies will always stay in my life, even if our conversations are sparse and our face-to-face interactions are few and far between.

I love that I have been blessed with such wonderful, beautiful, sweet, talented, and loyal friends. I have been friends with Jess for 17 years! That is so scary that I can say that. I know that I am still so young, but it's amazing to say that you've known someone for more than 15 years and still talk to them on a weekly basis. I can say the same of Chantel Keuleman. It makes me so happy to know that despite the thousands of miles that stand between me and all these important people in my life, they are still so close to my heart.

Some other highlights of my break:
  • Big Bear ski trip with my wonderful mama

  • New Year's Eve extravaganza at my house

  • House marathons with Sean & Debs
  • the list could go on!
